ENERGY COMMUNITY: CONSULTATIONS ON PRICE REGULATION REFORM
Friday, May 25, 2012.
The Energy Community Secretariat opened public consultations on the draft of the report on the phased reform of the existing regime of regulated pricing system (electricity and natural gas) in the Contracting Parties to the Energy Community (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukrain and UNMIK).
The Secretariat stressed that the Permanent High Level Group (PHLG) “reiterated its concern about persisting barriers to the establishment of open national and regional markets, including excessive price regulation.”
The report includes the assessment of the harmonisation of the price regulation with the rules of the Energy Community, state-of-play in the Contracting Parties and the proposals of reforms submitted by the Secretariat. The consultations were sent to all interested parties and the consultation period runs from May 25 to June 15, 2012.
