APPROVAL OF AGREEMENTS ON CROSS-BORDER CAPACITY ALLOCATION
Friday, December 08, 2017.
On the session held on December 8, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has approved Agreements between the Transmission System Operator of the Republic of Serbia EMS JSC and the Transmission System Operators of Romania (Transelektrica), Macedonia (MEPSO), Hungary (MAVIR), Bulgaria (EAD), Bosnia and Herzegovina (NOSBIH) and Croatia (HOPS) on the procedure and method of cross-border capacity allocation and on access to cross-border transmission capacity for 2018.
By organising joint auctions, more efficient use of cross-border capacity is provided in line with European regulations. The enforcement of these agreements enables broader possiblities for system users and improves conditions for the development of the electricity market in the southeastern Europe and its integration into the European market. The most significant step towards the integration into the European market was made on the border with Croatia where Joint Allocation Office S.A. (ЈАО) from Luxembourg will organise annual, monthly and daily auctions via joint European platform in line with the European harmonised allocation rules.
On the same session, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has approved Rules for Cross-Border Transmission Capacity Allocation on the Borders of EMS JSC Control Area. The Rules will be enforced on the borders with the operators of neighbouring systems where agreements on joint auctions were not signed.
