WORKSHOP ON THE OPENING OF THE WESTERN BALKANS ENERGY MARKET

The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE) in co-operation with the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS) organises a one day workshop on the “Opening the Western Balkans Energy Market”, in Belgrade, Serbia on March 7, 2012.
The purpose of the Workshop is to bring together high-ranking government officials, senior business executives and energy experts from the countries of the Western Balkans and the wider SE European area with the objective of exchanging information and ideas, networking and discussions on the design of the action required in order to meet the mounting energy and environmental challenges of the region.
The Workshop will cover a wide range of topics on energy and environment including energy market integration, the latest developments in the electricity sector (power stations, electricity grid connections etc.), the key energy developments in the gas sector (gas interconnectors and inter-regional pipelines), RES project development and energy security.
Furthermore, IENE has recently published a study on SE Europe Energy Outlook, to be presented during the Workshop, which will provide a useful background reference material.
High level speakers from Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and other Western Balkans countries have confirmed their participation in the Workshop.
