BELGRADE, 9 October - The Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia passed tariff systems for access and use of electricity transmission system, for transport of natural gas, as well as for transport of oil through oil pipelines and oil derivates through product pipelines and submitted these tariff systems to the Government for the consent.
With passing tariff systems, the independent regulatory body entered final stage of approving new acts that regulate energy prices.
Methodologies for setting the maximum allowed revenue for energy businesses and setting tariff elements for calculating prices for electricity transmission, transport of gas and oil and oil derivates transport, among other things, were approved prior to passing of tariff systems.
The tariff systems for electricity transmission and transport of natural gas will enable eligible customers to purchase electricity, i.e. gas, from different suppliers and pay for the transmission/transport at regulated prices. This practically means that the set goal, market opening and development of competition, has been achieved.
Companies that operate on domestic energy market, in accordance with approved methodologies and tariff systems, will prepare price proposal for products and services for 2007. The price proposals will be submitted to the Agency for an opinion and then submitted to the Government for the approval.
The New system for regulating prices will apply from 1 January 2007.
