Monday, June 11, 2012.
On Monday, June 1, the regulatory institutions of Serbia and Italy, the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS) and the Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas (AEEG) agreed to cooperate and exchange experience in the fields of electricity and gas.
The Memorandum on Cooperation, which represents a follow-up of long-term benevolent relations between Serbia and Italy in the energy field was signed by the Presidents of the two regulatory institutions, Ljubo Macic and Guido Bortoni in Milano.
The cooperation should contribute to the harmonisation of the regulatory practice of Serbia with the European Union practice in terms of energy market development and improvement of the investment climate in the region.
Further operational cooperation between AERS and AEEG is envisaged within the Energy Community Regulatory Board so as to accelerate the process of connection of the energy markets of the South East Europe and their inclusion into the PanEuropean market.
The cooperation between the Serbian and Italian energy regulator will be realized through joint working groups. There will be a possibility to include the experts from Academy, industry and other institutions.
